And it's not necessarily much more expensive to go straight for bulk storage instead of IBCs when you consider the lower cost of bulk delivery and the costs of IBC-related pumps and other equipment.

AdBlue can be delivered in Bulk by a local distributor or direct from the factory on Teesside by Petroplus.

A Typical Bulk Installation

A typical bulk tank installation will comprise a self-contained 5,000 litre self-bunded plastic bulk tank, complete with all dispensing equipment including digital meter display & keypad with non-drip nozzle & AdBlue quality hoses.

Allow an installed budget cost of about ?5-6,000 depending upon your choice of dispensing equipment, delivery location onto your pre-prepared 300mm concrete base.  You'll need to add the cost of any electrical connections and safety barrier work.

You may want to think about trace-heating but in most cases a 60watt lightbulb in the dispense cabinet will provide enough heat to keep the pump equipment from freezing.

Our approved range of rotary moulded double-skinned AdBlue tanks are colour-coded in a distinctive blue colour to prevent delivery muddles. You don't want to have fuel oil delivered to your AdBlue tank by mistake!

The exact tank you chose and the capacity required will depend on the space available and how much you need to store.  We recommend the 5,000 litre tank as is sufficiently large to store at least a month's supply for the largest fleets when all vehicles are Euro4 compliant [in a few years time].  Spend some time to think about tanker access including minimising tanker inconvenience and holding enough volume to qualify for the largest bulk-delivery discounts.  Other sizes are available and our Which Tank Is Right For You? table [below] will help you make your choice.  Think also about the practical advice on siting your tank.

What You Get as Standard in the tank

Watchman tank monitoring equipment comes as standard and warns the operator when AdBlue levels are low and a fresh delivery is required.  We can monitor your tanks for you.  The double bund provides insulation to prevent the contents from freezing.

The Budget Tank price includes

• All tanks are fitted with the BlueCat quick-release one-way dispensing valve that can enable quick dispense equipment replacement in case of accidental damage or failure.
