euro5 Budget Announcement anticipated

Commenting on reports in the UK Motor Transport magazine that suggest that the reduced pollution certificate tax-disc rebate would be extended to operators purchasing Euro5 vehicles in advance of the October 2008 deadline BlueCat project director John Fuller said "Lower emissions and Carbon Reduction are rising up the political agenda, especially in London with the start of the Low Emission Zone consultation. We hope the Chancellor recognises that SCR-based technology using AdBlue reduces emissions and reduces operators' carbon footprint and that he extends the 5-year-old RPC scheme to Euro4 and particularly Euro5 trucks in the budget to provide a financial incentive for operators to update to the most modern trucks"
